To determine the proper dilution ratio for fragrance oils in carrier oils, the typical ratio is 2-3%, but this varies based on the intended use and specific oils. Higher concentrations are suitable for diffusers, DIY candle, and soap making, while lower concentrations are recommended for skin use. Choosing a neutral, well-ventilated room with no strong smells is ideal for trying incense, and testing on skin should be done by applying fragrance to a clean, dry area and waiting 30 minutes to assess the true scent.

Mixing fragrance oils can create custom scents, but it's important to start with small batches and test for compatibility. Factors such as skin type, climate, application method, and storage can affect the longevity and intensity of a fragrance.

For DIY candles and soap, adding 1 oz of fragrance oil for 1 lb of soy wax is recommended. The wax should be at 185℉ and the oil should be poured into the wax, then stirred slowly.
